This cushion started off as a kit purchase from a friend to raise money for Cancer Research – and then I did not know what to do with it. I asked my daughter to write down 14 words that she and her family associated with Lockdown. Besides their names and the pets’ names, they also include:- snuggles, rainbows, football, Tenbury, family walks and baking.

I made this quilt during the third lockdown, fabric bought in a panic the day before lockdown. Pattern from Today’s Quilter issue number 20.
It was long arm quilted by Gemma at Midsomer Quilters.
Paper pieced 6 inch squares with scrap strips from previous projects, random widths and colours. Including white or cream in each block. Such a great way to use up scraps.

The blocks were made by CQ members in the Round Robin Quilt Challenge 2020 which started way before Covid 19 hit us all.
After a long break the challenge was started up again and at long last these 2 quilts are finished and ready to be handed over to Barton Camp.

An elephant quilt.
and the butterflies quilt I had planned for years after being given some liberty fabric – some vintage. Applique and free machine quilted to create movement.

My Chairs Challenge for 2020 was to make a tablecloth for the exhibition welcome table.
Members were asked to do a letter and a sewing related block.
I have completed it with Clifton Quilters being displayed prominently on the front.
I hope you can all spot your blocks.

I made this baby quilt for my daughter Jessica best friend who had her baby Zach on Christmas Day. It was beautifully quilted by Mary-Jane with woodland leave and acorns.
I made this quilt for my nephews 21st Birthday. He is working towards his yacht masters captain qualification. This is the sailing flag alphabet. Mary-Jane did a brilliant job on quilting it for me in time for him to receive for Christmas, when he was home. He was thrilled with it.
The s is a selection of toilet bags, tissue covers and lavender bags I made for Christmas presents. The puffin material was bought in Downend when on the Clifton Quilters August Shopping trip.

At the beginning of lockdown I made a quilt for my 6 year old granddaughter, a disappearing nine patch with some hexagon flowers, in pink and purple – her favourite colours.
I made a foundation pieced scrap quilt as I had a few bags of strips from many projects. I have also completed a small Sashico project.

I finally finished this in lock down but it was long arm quilted by Frances Meredith just beforehand. It was paper pieces, each block being 12in square.

The first thing I did before lockdown was to create a list of UFOs/Projects. I got up to 27! And being good, I started off with the UFO’s. My kitchen apron is now being used regularly and the needle book will be used, once I can go to workshops again.
The bag is going to Barnstaple, the blue Teddy was requested by my other sister-in-law who wanted it for her French house.

It is called Mountain Lily and made with the help of Missouri Star. I wanted to use up bits of jelly roll but finished up buying plenty more fabric. Thanks to De at Midsomer Quilting for getting stuff to me so quickly.

For my daughter Jessica’s engagement to Scott, I used all their old hockey shirts to create this quilt. It was hard using all the different materials but I am thrilled with the overall effect. The quilting was completed by Mary-Jane at Trym Quilting.

This rather quirky peg bag was fun to make. I made the fabric from bits in my scrap stash, then cut out the pieces. The quilting was done before stitching the side and base in place. It is a great item of hanging storage for all kinds of things, not just clothes pegs!
